Aviation
We represent air carriers and other participants in the aviation industry in tort litigation and regulatory proceedings as well as in commercial and contractual disputes. We also provide assistance and advice related to licensing and operational issues. Members of the aviation group have extensive experience in the courts and before the Canadian Transportation Agency, Transport Canada, the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal and other regulatory tribunals whose jurisdiction affects the industry. Knowledge of the applicable law, substantive and procedural, is only the first requirement of effective representation. We know that, in addition to legal knowledge and skill, we need to understand the aviation industry, its organizations, history, conventions, terminology and special operating environments. Our years of practice in the field and participation in industry organizations such as the Air Transport Association of Canada and the International Air Transport Association allow us to place a breadth of knowledge at our clients’ disposal for the achievement of their legal objectives.
